Awards

AwardsThe National Trust for Historic Preservation annually selects America’s most endangered places and a dozen distinctive destinations. In 2008, Heritage Nebraska created its own list of Fading Places and Hidden Treasures. These “awards” serve to focus on the preservation of these special places. Since 1988, the National Trust has identified 200 threatened one-of-a-kind historic treasures. The listings do not ensure the protection of a site or guarantee funding. But the designation has been a powerful tool for raising awareness and rallying resources. The announcements are made in early May.
